Clear as Mud.
I meant to explain this a long time ago but got busy doing laundry and having soccer practice so I didn't get it done... so now I will.
Back before we had my hubby reversed so that I could again not get any decent sleep, I had a dream. I dreamed that we were at the Middle School for a back to school night or a conference or something. I remember getting a baby out of the Moose and heading into the school. All of my children were there. I recall telling one of them to hold daddy's hand. I knew the baby was mine... I just wasn't sure where it had come from. You know how dreams don't always make sense. :)
Suddenly we were in the hallway of Burton Elementary and my Brownie came up to me and tried to take the baby out of my arms. "Let me take Petey. I want to show him to my friends." He had a boy with him but I didn't know who he was for sure even though he looked familiar. "C'mon. Let me take Petey."
I remember telling Brownie not to call the baby that. His name was Mason (I don't know how I knew that) and not Petey. I told him to stop calling him that. There was other weird stuff in the dream but that was the part that stuck out in my mind when I woke up.
Anyway... for that brief time that I was sure I was having another boy I was naming him Mason Peter... from my dream. Since he did not come I have taken to calling my little one "Princess Petey."
Make sense now?
I need a minute.
The other night was just one of those. My teenagers were all irritated and annoyed. Not to mention annyoing. Brownie had pestered me until I let him go to Hannah's volleyball game (she plays for OHS). Blondie wanted to have a sleepover... good grief... it's only Monday ask me later in the week. "Aww... mom!!" My freckled son was in one of his great moods, "What's for dinner? I don't like that.. I want cereal!" My youngest son chose this moment to tork me off "I don't want you for my mom anymore!" and wound up getting himself sent to his room... for the rest of his life.
To the front porch.
All of this was taking place while I was trying to nurse Princess Petey, fix dinner, make phone calls to cancel soccer practice and prepare my brain for my hubby to leave town again. Which by the way he informed me of as he headed upstairs for his SECOND shower of the day (I can't remember if I even had one on Monday or not...)
Anyway.... things were going so well that I left. I picked up my sweet infant, wrapped her in a blanket and left.

Nobody noticed.
I rocked my small baby and composed my letter to give to the HR department to inform them of my lack of willingness to continue in my present station. I didn't want to go back in and search for the time clock to punch out for the day so... "To whom it may concern, ..." I don't know how long I sat and rocked and felt sorry for my self but it apparently wasn't long enough.
They found me... "When do we eat?"
I don't know if there is a point to my story but I guess until I know where to send my notice I will continue with my quest to raise decent members of society.... and maybe let Jellybean out of his room. Maybe........

Concerned?
Yesterday we attended my hubby's church for the purpose of our little Petey being "dedicated". Basically she was being prayed for and we were promising in front of the "church" that we would raise our daughter for the Lord and so on... blah, blah.
Anyway, it was a kind of cute litte ceremony and the Other Grandparents attended along with Aunt CC and her daughter were there. I forced all of our boys to go and even sweet Hannah came for the day. Princess Petey slept through the ceremony so it all went well.
The best part though came after Pastor Kevin was done.
Pastor Dave (I don't know why they need so many pastors or even how many they have but...) stood up and began flipping through his Bible and was talking about how sometimes we will ask the Lord to give us a "word" and then when we find a scripture we don't like what is says. "Bible Roulette" he called it. So he said he was doing this to determine what he would talk to the church about. The great topic he choose... that the Lord gave him... was...
Prostitution!

yep... my daughter's sweet dedication was followed by a discussion on
prostitution. You heard me. Prostitution!
Okay... so he didn't mean the great boots kind of prostitution but still. Come on. I think someone should have warned us what his topic was so we could have not been there. As Hannah would say... "Awkward!"
The best part... actually came when I went to retrieve my two youngest sons out of the boys bathroom...by pushing open the door and wacking some guy who was coming out. Oops!
I have decided to never return to my hubby's church. I think the Lord was trying to tell me something and I am pretty sure I don't like the message.
